Top brands in cycling clothing
The first thing to be clear about is what brands of clothing you can buy, can afford or are simply willing to pay more for a garment of equal performance.
There is a wide range of cycling clothing or cycling brands and it is not because a brand is cheaper that it has to be of poorer quality, as there are brands with a very good value for money.
Often we are paying a high price for “the brand” and that is also a value to be taken into account by many people, but there are many other people who do not care about the brand of cycling clothing but believe that by paying more they will have a garment with much better technical characteristics than another of lesser value.
For example, for me a cycling clothing brand where all their garments have a very good quality in relation to the price and with really nice garments is Siroko, but what happens, you can see it in the soup.
Any small/medium influencer is going to use Siroko in their publications, and this makes the brand have a certain rejection by cyclists who like to be fashionable and do not consider it one of the best cycling clothing brands, you could say that it is a “Zara” of cycling.
Siroko vs Rapha brand prices
For example, the picture shows a comparison of two thermal jerseys, one from Siroko and the other from Rapha.
The price of the Siroko jersey is 69€ while the Rapha jersey is 185€, surely Rapha uses more expensive materials, but to the point of paying almost three times as much for a similar garment, this is where brand positioning comes in.
Is Siroko’s a good garment? Yes, Siroko’s has a nice design? Yes, but it is positioned for a public that wants to pay less for cycling clothing.
In contrast, Rapha has positioned itself as a high quality brand with a “luxury” and exclusivity positioning that allows it to charge more for its garments.
Example of Siroko jerseys
Cheap Chinese cycling clothing on Amazon or Aliexpress
On the opposite side to Rapha we have aliexpress or Chinese brands that sell on amazon, where we can get a set of jersey and bib shorts for less than 30€, which depending on the type of cycling we do will be more than enough.
Normally the quality of finish is much lower, but perhaps having a few garments of this style for the roller or simply because we don’t want to pay more is fine.
I do not recommend this type of cheap garments, especially shorts, if you are going to cycle for many hours and have delicate buttocks, as their weakest point is the chamois, where the quality is very noticeable compared to a high-end bib shorts.
They are not usually laser-cut, they are stitched and look older, but sometimes it hurts to go through some bramble-filled summer trails with 189€ garments like the x-bionic example.

What cycling brands are there?
There are countless cycling brands, from huge brands to small workshops, but let’s take a look at the best known ones:
Gobik
Gobik is a Spanish cycling clothing and accessories brand founded in 2013 in Yecla.
It specialises in technical clothing for road cycling and triathlon, offering a wide range of products for cyclists of all levels.
Its products include bib shorts, jackets, gloves, jerseys and accessories.
The brand stands out for its use of high quality fabrics and technologies to enhance athletes’ performance, and for its modern and attractive design.
Gobik has been a sponsor of top-level teams and athletes in Spanish cycling and has been the official clothing supplier for several major events in Spain. Although it is a young brand, Gobik has gained great recognition and prestige in the cycling world.
They have dressed Alberto Contador and Tadej Pogačar, they are present today in major races and top teams.
I would say that in price it is one level below the more exclusive brands but with a very high quality.
As for the design it maintains a more sporty than elegant air, the trend lately is mainly in road and gravel in sober colors, such as green, ocher or dark blues and gobik still maintains more vivid and flashy colors more typical of the competition.
However, they are gradually adapting to the latest trends.

Siroko
Siroko is a brand born on the Internet and it shows, as they have spread through the networks like wildfire thanks to its affiliate program and sponsorships.
They started out designing eyewear and now have an impressive catalog of cycling, fitness and snow apparel.
I particularly love the designs, the quality is very good and the price is very affordable.
They have focused on an audience that doesn’t want to pay the top brands’ burradas but offering a very similar product.
Perhaps the only downside they have is that they are not English or Italian, besides having made such a good marketing strategy and have reached so many people that it subtracts “exclusivity” to the brand, you could say that they are the Zara of cycling.
It is an ideal brand for cyclists who do not care about the brand but do not want to give up the quality of high-end garments with elegant designs and not scratching so much the pocket.

Castelli
To talk about Castelli is to talk about cycling, it is one of the classic Italian brands recognized all over the world.
Its origin dates back to 1876 and the garments are of high quality with classic designs and prices in the high end of the range without being among the most expensive on the market.

Decathlon
Decathlon has affordable garments that really work very well but they are Decathlon, something that cyclists tend not to like very much, just as in other sports you tend to see a lot of Decathlon garments in cycling people are very reluctant, it does not look “good”.
It has the Van Rysel range with high quality garments and very contained prices with the advantage that no longer puts Decathlon, is an external brand.

Etxeondo
Spanish brand born in 1976 in a farmhouse in the Basque Country.
It designs and manufactures its garments in its own facilities, making it a 100% national product.
The quality of its products is very high, which is also reflected in the prices, which are in the upper part of the table but without being the most expensive.
Since these products are manufactured in Spain and are technically very advanced, it is one of my favorite brands.

In addition, Rapha has stood out for its commitment to the environment and sustainability, emphasizing the production of products with sustainable materials and reducing its carbon footprint.
Rapha is a benchmark for elegance in cycling, especially road and gravel.
It has quite high prices and I think that even being very good clothes you pay an extra cost to wear the brand.
But for those who don’t mind digging deep into their pockets, wearing Rapha is sure to be a hit.
It has an air of classic cycling that I love, and the brand also surrounds itself with a very cool ecosystem that revolves around cycling.
Cafes, exclusive stores, outings, routes, etc.
